Noritake to Set Up Solar Cell Material JV in China

Nagoya, Nov. 17 (Jiji Press)--Japanese ceramic ware maker Noritake Co. said Monday it will set up a joint venture in China to make paste for solar cell electrodes.

The venture, the first overseas base for Noritake's solar cell- related operations, will start production next April.

Annual output is estimated at 250 tons for 2011, with sales forecast at 4 billion yen.
The new firm, to be based in Jintan, Jiangsu Province, will be capitalized at 288 million yen. Noritake will have a 30 pct stake in the firm, while the rest will be held by a local solar cell maker.

Noritake aims to achieve annual sales of 10 billion yen from solar cell-related products in 2011.
